Peachtree Brass Online - Welcome
Peachtree
Brass was founded in 1976. Its members include Mike Barry and Tom
Wallace (trumpet), Shelley Miller (horn), Richard Brady (trombone), and
Don Strand (tuba). Members of Peachtree Brass have performed with
the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, The Atlanta Opera Orchestra, the Atlanta
Ballet Orchestra, and the Columbus, Macon, Greenville and Savannah Symphony
Orchestras. They regularly participate in Chastain Park and Fox Theater
productions as well as recording sessions, industry and trade shows, religious
ceremonies, and private parties, banquets, and celebrations. Members
of the ensemble also teach in local colleges and universities in the Atlanta
metro area.
Since 1982, the Peachtree Brass has been delighting
students of all ages with their educational, informative, and always entertaining
in-school presentations. Using musical selections from the classics
to jazz and pop, the group teaches students about music, math, science,
history, and much more.
Peachtree Brass performs throughout Georgia and
the Southeast in public and private schools (from pre-school to high school),
educating as they entertain with a
number of different programs, all full of fun and audience participation.
Always
a favorite with kids and teachers alike, the quintet regularly performs
in over 100 schools every year.
